WE ARE LYFE CYCLE

greybike2.png

LYFE CYCLE is your neighborhood boutique cycling studio located in Roslindale Village in Boston, Massachusetts. We are a small local Rozzie owned studio intended to give you a great workout in a convenient and comfortable location for half the price of other cycling studios. We create a comfortable, supportive, and intimate environment for our students. Our instructors most likely know your name, we have small class sizes and boast a supportive environment.

Our workout at LYFE CYCLE is a quality 45- minute beat driven RYDE designed to be productive for your fitness goals. Our RYDE is based on the beat of the music and our choreography is intentional, purposeful, and specific. The challenge of our RYDE is from the physical variables of speed, resistance, and movement. Our RYDE now incorporates hand weights with upper body exercises to ensure you leave with a full body workout. Our RYDE is friendly to both beginners and avid indoor and outdoor cyclists and each of our instructors has their individual choreography focus and music taste to keep things fresh.

Now you can get all of your fitness needs under one roof in your neighborhood with the newest addition to our schedule: LYFT. LYFT is an hour long bootcamp class that incorporates strength and intervals off of the bike in a circuit style group training class. You'll complete a circuit of exercises with short intervals and core work so you leave with a full body and energy system workout. LYFT is the best compliment for your cycling workouts and the two together will help you reach any fitness goal.

We recommend two RYDE and two LYFT classes per week for the best results.

At our studio you'll receive complimentary cycling shoe rentals, water refill, hand towels, and chilled lavender towels for after your RYDE. Our instructors will learn your name and we are friendly, supportive, and passionate about what we do.

LYFE is short, we can't wait to start RYDING with you soon.

GENERAL STUDIO INFO

SHOES, TOWELS, WATER.
We offer free cycling shoe rentals for all RYDERS based on availability. Our bikes have the option to use athletic shoes or our pedals are compatible with SPD cycling shoes. We have towels available for every bike and have chilled lavender towels for after your RYDE. We have a water bubbler to fill your water bottle with cold water and water bottles for purchase in case you forget!

FIRST TIME?
Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes early so an instructor can help you get set up on the bike and with shoes. A brand new RYDER arriving one minute before class begins will make class begin late, so please be respectful and arrive early. We can also help you modify your bike set up for certain scenarios such as pregnancy, injury, or discomfort.

ARRIVE EARLY.
Please arrive early to class- we expect our RYDERS to be clipped in and ready to go by the time class is scheduled to begin. The entrance will be locked at the time class is scheduled to begin and there are no exceptions and late arrivals will be counted as a late- cancel. If it is your first class, arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure proper bike set up and help clipping in so you are ready when class is scheduled to begin.

CANCELATION POLICY & SIGN UP.
New as of April 3rd 2017, our studio has a 4- hour cancellation policy. If you are unable to make it to class please understand we require at least 4- hours advanced notice. Late cancellation on a package or single class will result in forfeit of that class. Late cancellation on a membership will result in an $8 fee for each cancellation and a no- show will result in a $12 fee. We understand schedules change, but anytime a RYDER cancels or no- shows it prevents another willing individual from getting in a workout. Please be respectful of our instructors, our studio, and your fellow RYDERS by cancelling in advance of the cancellation window.

SCHEDULE RELEASE & SIGN UP.
New as of April 3rd, our studio has an updated schedule release of a rolling 8- day advanced release. This is to allow advanced booking and planning but to keep your reservations realistic and to allow all RYDERS a more equal opportunity to RYDE with us. In order to manage our waitlists better, sign ups within four hours of class must email us regarding bike availability or stand-by in studio. You will no longer be able to sign up for a class if it is within four hours of class. We kindly request that out of respect for other RYDERS you only book the classes you know you will be attending.

WAITLISTS.
If a class is full, please add yourself to the waitlist. If the waitlist is full, email us with the date/time of the class you would like to enroll in. Our waitlists transition up to 10 people over the course of the week so always put your name on the list. Students will automatically be added from the waitlist into class up to four hours before class is scheduled to begin and will receive an automatic email from Mindbody if subscribed to notifications. Added students before the four hour window are subject to late cancel and no show fees, so if you no longer intend to come to class, make sure to cancel. Within the four hour window, Waitlisted students are asked to confirm and we request you respect other RYDERS and be honest with your bookings and confirm your attendance.

LYFT SHOE REQUIREMENTS.
LYFT is a bootcamp primarily off of the bikes so you must attend with athletic shoes. We cannot accommodate bare feet or cycling shoes.

BRING WITH YOU:

  • Water Bottle
  • SPD Cycling Shoes or Athletic Shoes
  • Socks if you plan to rent shoes
  • Avoid loose pants

Caitlin grew up in Boston and spent her college years at Umass Amherst. Growing up, she always enjoyed sports and played softball for several years! After college, she found herself searching for a new type of workout to mix up a monotonous and stale gym routine. One of her best friends, an avid indoor cyclist, convinced her to try out a spin class. She had no idea what she was getting into and sat front row in a room full of people that all looked like professionals, but immediately was hooked on the music, motivation of the instructor and the energy of the riders. She instantly fell in love and decided to become an instructor!

Caitlin Kerrigan: RYDE Instructor

Caitlin became an indoor cycling instructor May 2015 and since has been dedicated to motivating and pushing RYDERS reach new limits! She herself is constantly motivated by RYDERS and loves seeing them each class. Caitlin is absolutely addicted to EDM and Pop, so her RYDES are always full of new beats, remixes of pop songs, and always some throwbacks! Anyone that has taken her RYDE knows she enjoy's singing along to the music with choreography that taps, crunches, jumps and sprints. Her RYDE is fun yet challenging and always has some choreography happening that can be intermediate to advanced. Expect a fun upbeat class with a great motivator (even at 6am), lots of choreography, and at least one song of upper body arm weights in your workout.

Kim Young: RYDE Instructor

While Kim spends her days teaching high school World History, her evening cycling classes are beat driven with frequently changing sets of choreography, always designed with the intention of giving you the best workout possible. She enjoys creating a class environment where RYDERS feel like they are a part of a team, regardless of their level of experience. Expect to hear mostly Top 40's hits with some occasional throwbacks; all songs have such a great bass beat, you can't help but "drop that crunch."
